The Non-Credit-Card Way Of Rebuilding Your Credit Score: Part 1

If you’re on a mission to rebuild your credit, you can do so without relying on credit cards. Here are a few ways that you can start implementing right away:

  • Report your rent. The 3 big bureaus Transunion, Equifax, and Experian now accept rent payments on your credit report. You will need to use a third party service to report your rent and it can all be done without your landlord’s involvement.
  • Add a household bill in your name. Often times, your bills will show up on your credit report for negative reasons. But, you can also have your utility bills reported for good standing too. All you need to is call your provider.
  • Address the negative. If you’re doing great in all areas except one, check to see where the issue is and correct it. If you want to build your credit score you need to address the things that may be pulling it down as well.

These three things are the non-credit-card approach to rebuilding credit. In part 2, we will discuss three other areas where you can rebuild your credit.
