What Transunion Does When You Report An Inaccuracy

Because inaccurate information can sometimes pop up on your credit report, it’s important that you dispute any inaccuracies to Transunion immediately. At your request, Transunion will initiate an investigation on the inaccuracy disputed by you. The company can also make any changes on your credit report on their own if they deem you are accurate.

In some cases, they will contact the company reporting the information you disputed, supplies them all relevant information and any documents that you included with the dispute and asks them to review your dispute. The company must then verify all information they are reporting about the account, and provide a response to the dispute and update their records to reflect what is accurate.
