First, you can ask that the freeze be removed temporary for a specific lender, Another option is to ask for a date range lift. That means you ask that the freeze be removed for a certain amount of time. You can ask for the freeze to be removed for anywhere from one day to a year. Then of course, you can always just ask that the freeze be removed forever.

In order to do this, you must have your 10-digit PIN from Equifax. You can remove it either by:

Calling 1-800-685-1111 (NY residents please call 1-800-349-9960), or
Mailing Equifax Security Freeze, P.O. Box 105788, Atlanta, GA 30348.
